ABOUT ME
Dr. Barri L. Bumgarner is the author of two thrillers, one YA book, and her newest release, a contemporary fiction/YA crossover. She is a professor and teacher educator who tries to practice what she preaches about teaching and writing. Aside from her previous novels 8 Days, Slipping, Dregs, and Fifty Cents for a Dr Pepper, Barri has also published too many stories, poems, and articles to count, both academic and teacher-education focused.
In 2020, she appeared on Dateline's "Before Daylight" episode for a true-crime project she has been working on for nearly two decades, appearing on CourtTV, numerous Investigation Discovery shows, culminating from over 300 interviews with those involved in the case. The short story about the murder of Jesse Valencia will be featured in her upcoming compilation The Voices.
She loves to travel, watches sports/movies/documentaries, as well as playing with all things digital. She has two furry children with her better half of 35 years, and she is far less successful training her furry children than she is her students. Just ask Cali & Shorty!
